The Living Scholar Abu Anas Hamad al Uthmaan

Shaykh Aboo Anas is one of the well-known students of Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (d.1421H). He remained in contact with the Shaykh until the latter’s death (rahimahullaah). He has written a few books expounding upon the manners of the student of knowledge, in addtion to his refutation of Ikhwaanee principles. He has visited Eurpoe on numerous occasions for the purpose of da’wah.

The Living Scholar Muhammad al Anjaree

September 8, 2012

Shaikh Rabee on Shaikh al Anjaree and Shaikh Ahmad as Subayee:

The answer I give to this question is: I do not know them, I do not know them except they are from the notable and distinguished Salafis. They do not not incline towards Faalih al-Harbee nor anyone else who opposes the Salafi manhaj. What I know is that they are steadfast and firmly established upon the Sunnah, inshaAllah.

Shaikh Abu Anas Hamaad al Uthman and Shaikh Falaah Isma’il Mandakar on Shaikh al Anjaree:

Shaikh Ahmad as-Subayee on Shaikh al Anjaree:

So indeed the accusations have reached me, that have been directed towards a noble brother, and an outstanding shaykh, and I don not like that I continue to describe him, complimenting him and praising him due to knowledge-based, shar’ee reasons, known by the People of Deen, and the prohibition. And the disparagement is not followed by a shred of evidence that shows the correctness of this criticism, nor does it mention any statements or actions that malign the integrity of ash-Shaykh Muhammad [al-‘Anjaree] and his deen. So I saw to be a shar’ee obligation upon me in this affair (some) issues:

The first of them: the protection and defense of our da’wah in front of some accusations that are general and devoid of evidences.

And the second: Acting upon his statement – Õáì Çááå Úáíå æ Óáã- “Aid your brother whether he is an oppressor or oppressed.” (1)..

So I say: Indeed ash-Shaykh Muhammad al-‘Anjaree – may Allaah keep him firm – is known for the Sunnah, and known for his sincerity towards the da’wah of Ahlus-Sunnah and his jihaad upon it, and I do not purify him above Allaah ÚÒ æ Ìá. And from the characteristics of this man is: frankness and clarity, (both) absolute and which remain and is not suitable for many of the people of this time in which flattery has spread, and courtesy has become fashionable, and self-interests and personal desires have become excessive, even in the matters related to the Deen.

So this noble brother – and I do not purify him above Allaah ÚÒ æ Ìá – gives the people sincere advice (naseehah), and clarifies the madhhab of Ahlus-Sunnah and warning from the Islaamic political groups, so, by Allaah’s praise, love for him took hold in the hearts of Ahlus-Sunnah, and hatred for him took hold in the souls of the followers of the jamaa’aat and their followers – may Allaah ÚÒ æ Ìá guide them.

Shaykh al-‘Anjaree studied with Shaykh ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ‘Abdus-Samad, famous student of Shaykh al-Albaanee – rahimahumaallaah, Shaykh Taariq as-Subay’ee and Shaykh Ahmad as-Subay’ee, and travelled often to Shaykh al-Albaanee, Shaykh Ibn Baaz and Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen to sit with them and ask them questions. He is well-known to Shaykh ‘Ubayd and Shaykh Rabee’, and Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee.

The Living Scholar Ahmad as-Subayee

June 23, 2010

Taken from:

Indeed this is a beautiful opportunity to take benefit from our òShaykh, òShaykh Aboo Muhammad Ahmad as-Subay’ee, whom òash-Shaykh Rabee’ – ÍÝÙå Çááå – said is the best of those in Kuwait.  And we have heard this via several brothers who have heard the òShaykh praise òShaykh Ahmad in this way, æ ÇáÍãÏ ááå.

Here is a brief bio that we were able to put together on the òShaykh.

His Mashayikh:

From amongst the Mashayikh that he studied with, visited and took benefit from are:

  • al-Imaam, ash-Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Azeez bin ‘Abdillaah bin Baaz ÑÍãå Çááå
  • al-Imaam, ash-Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen ÑÍãå Çááå
  • ash-Shaykh, al-‘Allaamah Muhammad Amaan al-Jaamee ÑÍãå Çááå
  • The scholar of Hadeeth, ash-Shaykh Hammaad al-Ansaaree  ÑÍãå Çááå
  • ash-Shaykh, al-‘Allaamah Rabee’ bin Haadee al-Madkhalee
  • ash-Shaykh Taariq as-Subay’ee (òShaykh Ahmad’s older brother and a student of Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Azeez and others)

òShaykh Ahmad was the first person to go to al-Imaam al-Albaanee ÑÍãå Çááå with the affair of ‘Abdur-Rahmaan bin ‘Abdul-Khaaliq, and used to travel to sit with the òShaykh ÑÍãå Çááå and ask him questions and take benefit from the Shaykh (along with òShaykh Taariq and òShaykh Muhammad al-‘Anjaree), and he was also the first to call Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen ÑÍãå Çááå regarding Saddaam’s invasion of Kuwait for advice and direction, as the Shaykh himself told Shaykh Ahmad.

His Students:

The most well-known of his students and those whom the òShaykh himself recommends to take benefit from are our òShaykh, Aboo ‘Uthmaan Muhammad  al-‘Anjaree and Aboo ‘Abdir-Rahmaan Zayd bin Hulays ad-Dawsaree.

His Da’wah:

The òShaykh – ÍÝÙå Çááå – continues to strive in clarifying the manhaj of the Salaf in Kuwait through his hi-powered, beneficial lessons, his articles, and his general sittings, which are always full of clarity and benefit, may Allaah reward him.  The way in which the òShaykh approaches issues is something that is rarely seen, bringing angles that give one a more complete way of understanding that particular affair.

òShaykh Ahmad is known for his defense of the Salafees and the Salafee Da’wah, and his firmness with the people of innovation and the jamaa’aat as-siyaasiyyah.
It was our òShaykh who was from the first in Kuwait to seek guidance from the ‘Ulamaa’ regarding ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ‘Abdul-Khaaliq and his Jam’iyyah Ihyaa’ at-Turaath and warn against it’s callers, such as Ahmad Baaqir, Naadhim Sultaan al-Misbaah and others and advising the youth of Turaath regarding them, and inviting them to the correct manhaj. It was òShaykh Ahmad who warned the Salafee youth of Kuwait  from sitting with ‘Abdullaah al-Ghunaymaan, detailing his open defense of Tableegh and Ikhwaan, takfeer, and  al-Ghunaymaan’s categorizing Tawheed al-haakimiyyah as a fourth, independent category. [1]
He is also well-known for his defense of our Salafee Mashayikh and his praise of them
(here is an example of that), even while clarifying an error that one of them may have fell into or expressing disagreement with an opinion that one of them may have held.  But, as we have seen first hand and Allaah knows best,  his love for them doesn’t stop him from clarifying the Haqq, nor does clarifying the Haqq take away from his respect for them æ ÇáÍãÏ ááå.

He is just as known for his beautiful manners and wisdom with the people as he is for his toughness and clarity in dealing with the people of innovation and the jamaa’aat, often supplicating under his breath for a person at length upon meeting them or after having answered their question.  We have heard òShaykh Muhammad al-‘Anjaree say that “the Khaleej has not seen the likes of òShaykh Ahmad as-Subay’ee.”  After a sitting with the òShaykh, one can see clearly what òShaykh al-‘Anjaree meant, Åä ÔÇÁ Çááå!

On behalf of the brothers here in Kuwait, we highly encourage the brothers to take advantage of this opportunity.  The òShaykh is not known for traveling much and it was only personal business that compelled him to visit the UK, so an opportunity such as this may not present itself again. And Allaah knows best.

May Allaah reward our òShaykh – ÍÝÙå Çááå – with good in this life and in the Hereafter and allow us and our brothers and sisters in the UK to benefit from his knowledge and his clarity.

[1] Al-Ghunaymaan’s tapes in which he makes takfeer of those who vote in elections, those who run for election as well as those who support their campaigns were widespread (and we have heard him with our own ears) by the takfeeree groups in the masaajid here in Kuwait in the run up to the elections held 5 years ago.  Along with that, he opposes the madhhab of Ahlus-Sunnah regarding the Ashaa’irah and Maaturidiyyah and says that they are from Ahlus-Sunnah and not from the 72 astray sects(!!) and that what they negate of the Sifaat of Allaah is from their ijtihaad. He calls to “jihaad” against the Americans in ‘Iraaq and Afghanistan and says whoever aids them is “a kaafir, outside the Islaamic religion.”

òOur òshaykh, òShaykh Ahmad said:

“So it is obligatory upon the one who ascribes himself to the Sunnah – a certain, clear, manifest, shar’ee obligation for everyone whom Allaah (‘Azza wa Jal) has opened up his chest to the madhhab of Ahlul-Hadeeth and to the Book and the Sunnah, to stand with the clear, sincere, shar’ee position from their brothers in clarifying the condition of shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Ghunaymaan, until the youth are not tempted by him nor those like him from those who have rendered their knowledge a service to the people of these politically-based desires (ahwaa’ as-siyaasiyyah).”

The Living Scholar Taariq as-Subayee

May 13, 2010

Taken from:

Shaykh Taariq ibn Husayn as-Subay’ee is one of the noble scholars of Kuwait.

Amongst his teachers are ash-Shaykh al-Imaam ‘Abdul-‘Azeez ibn ‘Abdullaah ibn Baaz and Shaikh Muhammad Amaan bin ‘Alee Al-Jaamee rahimahumullah. The Shaykh lived and studied in Makkah, close to ash-Shaykh Rabee’ ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee, for twenty years before returning to Kuwait at the request of his mother.

The shaykh is not known to do tele-link lectures and classes, but his classes are extremely beneficial for those who are present in Kuwait.

One of the noble students of Shaykh Taariq is ash-Shaykh Aboo ‘Uthmaan Muhammad al-Anjaree, who also resides in Kuwait. Shaykh Muhammad al-Anjaree is also the brother-in-law of ash-Shaykh Taariq as-Subay’ee. In addition, Shaykh Taariq’s younger brother, ash-Shaykh Ahmed ibn Husayn as-Subay’ee, is also one of the noble scholars of Kuwait.

According to ash-Shaykh al-Anjaree, Shaykh Taariq as-Subay’ee is the most knowledgeable of the scholars of Kuwait. ash-Shaykh al-Anjaree has also praised ash-Shaykh Taariq as-Subay’ee by saying that Kuwait has not seen the likes of Shaykh Taariq. From that which shows the status and position of ash-Shaykh Taariq as-Subay’ee is that Shaykh al-Anjaree will not give a dars if Shaykh Taariq is giving a dars, in order to give preference to ash-Shaykh Taariq.

And ash-Shaykh Ahmed ibn ‘Umar Baazmool, who is a teacher at Daar-ul-Hadeeth al-Khayriyyah in Makkah, and has studied with some of the scholars of Makkah such as Shaykh Muhammad ‘Alee ibn Aadam at-Ityoobee and Shaykh Muhammad as-Subayyal, has praised ash-Shaykh Taariq as-Subay’ee by calling him the Salafee ‘Aalim in Kuwait and he also advised the students of knowledge to gain knowledge from ash-Shaykh Taariq.

May Allaah preserve the shaykh and the other scholars of Kuwait, and make them a benefit for this Ummah and a guidance for it.
